Privacy Policy — Duskwing

Duskwing ("the app") is developed by Duskwing Studios ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what data the app collects and how it's used.
The short version
Duskwing doesn't collect anything. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no servers of ours. The questions are built into the app, and everything about how you use it — which questions you've answered, your scores, your quiz history, and your settings — is stored only on your device.
What stays on your device
- Your answers, and how many times you've answered each question correctly
- Your quiz history and statistics
- Any quiz you're part-way through
- Your settings, such as vibration
None of this is transmitted anywhere. We can't see it, and it isn't backed up to any service we run. If you delete the app, it's gone.
What the app doesn't do
- No account, email address, or sign-in is required or offered
- No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking
- No servers of ours beyond the version file described below
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No location access
- No selling or sharing of data, because none is collected
The one thing the app contacts
When Duskwing opens, and when it returns from the background after an hour or more, it requests a small file from duskwingstudios.com that states the oldest app version still supported. This is how the app knows whether it needs updating, which matters because question corrections ship with app updates.
The request contains no personal data and nothing about you or your studying. As with any web request, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard technical information such as the IP address and the time of the request. We don't use this to identify you, and it isn't linked to anything else. If the request fails, or your device is offline, the app simply carries on working.
Purchases
Duskwing offers a monthly auto-renewing subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes either transaction directly through the App Store. We never see or handle your payment details. Whether your subscription is active is checked against your own purchase records through Apple on your device, not stored on any server we run.
If you email us
The app can open your email app so you can report a problem or a mistake in a question. That message is prepared for you to send, and nothing is sent automatically. If you choose to send it, it includes the question's identifier and text, the question bank version, and the app version, so we can find what you're referring to. We'll also see your email address and whatever you write, because that's how email works. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
Children
Duskwing is a study aid for pilots and contains no mature content. It isn't directed at children, and it collects no personal data from anyone.
Your choices
- "Reset progress" in Settings clears your progress, quiz history, any unfinished quiz, and the first-run guide flags. It leaves your disclaimer acceptance, your vibration setting, and the cached version information in place
- Deleting the app removes all of it from your device
- Since nothing is collected, there's no data held by us for you to access, correct, or ask us to delete
